I have just finished with packing my dishwasher with the load of plates, cups and bowls for the 4th time in 2 days!! Yes, the machine has been busy because my kitchen has been busy too. Loads of friends and families visiting us in this festive season. I had missed a day in Bakethon. Hence this evening, I have two baked goodies planned for Bakethon. Since my house is all loaded with kids at the moment, tea time snacks are all in demand. I decided to bake some simple cinnamon rolls and used the same dough to make cute little diasies with candied peels for this evening’s tea time snacks. The first post is about cinnamon roll. Here it goes:
1.5 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup castor sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup melted powder and some more to spread
Method: Cream the butter and sugar. Add in the egg and beat well. Sieve the dry ingredients apart from the cinnamon powder. Add the dry ingredients and make a soft dough. Use a little milk if need be to bring the dough together. This dough is sticky. Cover this dough and keep aside for half an hour.
Using a little flour to dust, roll out the dough. Spread the rolled dough with melted butter all over. This is followed by spreading the cinnamon powder generously. Roll the dough into a tube. Using a knife, cut the rolled tube into small pieces.
In a preheated oven, bake the mini cinnamon rolls for 20 mins at 180 degrees.
You may sprinkle some confectioners sugar or glaze these cinnamon rolls by drizzling with icing.
