Alas! How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus!… Did he visit your place? He certainly did at mine..I am still hunting for my Chritsmas gift:) Look I made some quick cookies for him as well.Yes, these are absolutely instant!! With Bake-a-thon stepping into the last week..I am trying to get hold of some new bakes. I must mention that I would have never, ever baked like a mad had it not been for this event and lovely Champa. I need to plan and think of a theme every month to keep me blogging…I am so much used to writing posts now:))
So here is a Masala Chai Cookie for you all:
Masala Chai infused butter(recipe given as well) 1/2 cup
Plain flour 1 cup
Icing sugar 1/4 cup
Cold water just enough to put the dough together.
M.Chai infused butter:
1/4 cup butter
Masala Chai 3 tablespoons
If you do not have masala chai, use the normal tea leaves, add 1 tsp each of ground ginger, cloves, cardamom.
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add in the masala chai. Stir. Switch off the heat. Let the flavours of tea infuse in the butter. Place it on the heat again..just to melt it and not boil. Strain the butter. Keep it in the fridge for 15 mins.
Now to make the dough:
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C.
Rub the flour,butter, icing sugar together. I did not have to add much of cold water..just 1 tablespoon was enough.Knead this into a dough with cold water. Cling film this and place it in the fridge for 30mins.
Bring the dough out. Roll it into a sausage and cut into small pieces. Roll each into a small ball between your palms. Place each ball on a lined baking sheet. Flatten with a fork.
Bake for 15 mins..remember these do not need a long baking time.
