Peanut butter brownies

If you’re tired of ordinary brownies, try Rachel Allen’s rich peanut butter-based treats – great on their own or eaten with ice cream. Here is my third treat to our Indian team but with milk chocolate instead white chocolate. It is sweet, crunchy, you can smell and taste chocolate.  Till the day I baked the brownies, I just could not come to terms with the mix of peanut butter and chocolate!! But when I tasted my baking, I just loved the peanut butter taste in the brownies. Chocolate and peanut butter does go well!!

Here is the method followed again from my dear Rachel’s recipe:

  • 125 g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 150 g crunchy peanut butter
  • 175 g light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 75 g milk chocolate, chopped(you may use white chocolate from Rachel’s recipe)
Preheat the oven at slightly moderate temperature. Sift the flour and baking powder and keep aside. Cream in both peanut butter and butter. Beat in the egg, brown sugar and the vanilla extract. Bring in the flour into the butter mix. Add the chopped chocolate and mix well. Place this dough in the pregreased tin and bake in the oven. Bake till golden brown and Once baked, cool and cut into squares.
