Hi Everyone, check this fish curry. This was a treat for me. My son(11 yrs, 9 months to be precise) prepared this for me. He loves watching all the food shows. Check the presentation of this curry as well. He has picked up the presentation style from Master Chef series. I was blown away when he plated the curry with rice and potato bakes HUG letterings. This is his favourite recipe that he jotted down from my Bengali friend(CM) about 6 months back. He had been nagging me to make fish curry. I kept on postponing in order to find the best one for him. But he couldn’t wait, got hold of CM, jotted down the recipe and tried it couple of times. Last night, he prepared it with all his confidence. Isn’t he a clever guy!! Thanks to you CM!!
So here’s to my adorable son’s salmon curry.
Salmon fillet 4
Oil a couple of tablespoons
Ginger-garlic paste 2 tsp
Turmeric 2tsp(some for marination)
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Green chillies slit 4-5
Salt to taste
Coriander to garnish
Vinegar 2 tsp(which he forgot to add 🙂 )
Wash the fish fillet and keep aside by marinating with turmeric and salt. Chop the tomatoes and onions get a nice paste in a food pro. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add cumin seeds and wait till they splutter. Add the onion-tomato paste and saute. Add ginger-garlic paste. Add the turmeric, chilli powder and saute for a couple of more minutes. To this add warm water(Tip:always add warm water when cooking any curry, any cold water changes the taste)Add the fish fillet in the pan. Throw in the split green chillies (Add vinegar if you like, or a dash of lemon will do)and bring the curry to boil. The aroma will fill your house..that’s my promise! Remove from heat, garnish with coriander and serve with hot rice. Do let me know about your thoughts on my sunshine’s recipe!!
